HIDDEN FISH

Sushi Hidden Fish
1233 Rue de la Montagne,
Montréal, QC H3G 1Z2

Hidden fish is a true hidden gem.

The funny thing is that it’s not all that hidden.
It’s just not on a strip that you might expect… Tucked into Montagne street below St. Catherine lies Hidden Fish. It’s not much to look at from outside, just a typical restaurant entry into one of the older builds in Downtown Montréal, but to walk in is to be transported to somewhere a bit more cosmopolitan. I even dare say it has a New York vibe.

Firstly the ambience is sexy. Its contemporary furnishings, chic decor and comfortable seating makes this restaurant already one that invites you in.
You want to sit down.
The music isn’t loud and, is if anything, faint blending in so that it evokes a sense of intimacy amongst a table’s conversation.
No one needs to yell, it’s not sexy to yell.

The food is spectacular and bar none, the best sashimi/nigiri options in the city. The cuts are beautiful and are done with precision so that every bite is a true bite. None of this carpaccio on wads of rice passing it off as nigiri sushi.
The cuts are beautiful. So is the presentation and the accoutrements on the sushi. Pairings are done with precision and give the right note of special to each piece. If you are looking for fresh uni and delectable toro (both otoro and chutoro) along with delicious off menu fish and delectable sake, this should immediately be your next stop.

Be prepared to spend a bit because if you want a treat, this will be well worth it.
